There's nothing like a Golden Fourth of July.
And after year in which they had to go without the fun and fireworks that define one of Golden's signature summer time events, Goldenites embraced remembering why as they turned to Lions Park in big numbers on Independence Day.
Local 'outlaw country band' "The Rough Cuts" kicked off the celebration and were followed on stage by rock band "Something Underground." Then, despite some initial worries showers might spoil the show, booming fireworks filled the sky with color and smoke, providing a spectacular ending to one of the biggest events Golden has hosted since the pandemic began.
